In our science studies this term the Grade 4/5 students explored different types of forces including friction, gravity and pushes and pulls.

Through the hands-on assessment of making a marble playground, students identified forces that act at a distance and those that act in direct contact, and investigated how different-sized forces affect the movement of objects.

The students loved getting their creative flair on and worked in pairs to design and then create some magnificent playgrounds! Our classroom looked like a cardboard cyclone had ripped through for a couple of days and they almost used two whole rolls of sticky tape but they had such a great time!!

Enjoy these pictures of some of their amazing creations.
